Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service (VVCS)
VVCS is a counselling service for veterans and their families. A counsellor visits Seymour Medical Clinic every Tuesday and Wednesday. There are many veterans who need assistance because of their war experiences. They may suffer from ongoing personal, health and relationship difficulties because of these experiences and, perhaps, an unsatisfactory homecoming. The effects of a veteran's stress and readjustment difficulties are felt most strongly by family and close friends, so we encourage veterans and family members to use the service. Your doctor can ring the service on your behalf or you can self-refer.
'VVCS' telephone number is a 24 hour service which includes Country Veterans and out of hours CRISIS assistance. To contact a counsellor or make an appointment for Seymour call 1800 00-011-046. More information is available on their website
